Riley’s Upholstery was established in 1985, first opening in a shopfront in Mortdale in Sydney’s St George area. After 13 years, Riley’s moved to larger premises at nearby Carlton in 1998 where the business currently exists today.

Mark Riley the founder and still-owner completed his upholstery trade course in 1983 at Sydney technical college Ultimo and serving his full trade with a major furniture manufacturer in Sydney.

Mark has developed his craft on all types of furniture including modern and period. He has a good understanding of different styles of antique furniture as his parents are retired dealers and collectors.

His  knowledge of period furniture assists in the restoration techniques and materials used in times gone by. Each and every job is carried out by Mark as he has always remained a sole trader, so attention to detail and consistency of good workmanship is paramount.
